Kidovate Victoria is a fun, free, entrepreneurship initiative for middle school and high school age youth that aims to develop entrepreneurial spirit, business acumen, and a sense of corporate social responsibility. Youth make and sell a product (good, service, or experience) of their choice and sell it at a Kidovate market place or at their own stand. Central to the Kidovate experience is instilling a sense of corporate social responsibility. Youth will choose what percentage of their profits they will donate to what cause or charity. Collectively we hope to make a significant social impact in the region.

Start any time – sooner the better! The Kidovate marketplace will be held Saturday, May 25th at local area malls. More details will be emailed to registered participants in early March.

Help with the entrepreneurial journey is provided by: a graphic novel Workbook that helps youth think through key entrepreneurial decisions; access to mentorship provided by UVic Gustavson School of Business students; resources for parents, teachers, and youth group leaders that provide further insight into the development of entrepreneurship skill; and media support aimed at driving customers to the Kidovate markets.

A key element of Kidovate is learning about corporate social responsibility – that is, using your business to help out the community you’re in. Each participant is encouraged to show their love of local by pledging a portion of their profits to a charity of their choice. Wondering who you’d like to support? Check out some suggestions on the Local Charities tab.

Prior to the event on Saturday, May 25th, 2019, there will be an opportunity for registered participants to sign up for a marketplace stall. Plus, after the event, participants can upload photos, videos, and descriptions of their Kidovate experience to be eligible for prizes!
